A low hydrogen, iron powder type electrode developed for critical service welding in sour gas environments. Provides superior crack resistance, low moisture absorption, and weld metal impact strength ≥ 85 J at –50 °C. Conforms to NACE TM-0284 (HIC) and TM-0177 (SSCC), making it ideal for equipment exposed to hydrogen, impact, and pressure cycling. Suitable for offshore, nuclear, and structural welds subject to dynamic loading.

- Suitable for weld joints requiring sour gas resistance and crack avoidance
- Not recommended for short arc conditions or rapid weaving

A rutile-basic coated stainless steel electrode, E308L-16 is designed for welding austenitic 18/8 Cr-Ni stainless steels. With a low carbon core wire (308LER) and optimized ferrite (~8%), it offers maximum crack resistance, smooth arc characteristics, and superior corrosion resistance. The electrode produces soft fusion with minimal spatter, excellent slag detachability, and aesthetically clean weld beads. Suitable for use at service temperatures from -120°C to +350°C.
