Processes
- Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMA / SMAW)
- Suitable for DC and AC polarities. DC+ polarity recommended for optimal arc stability.
- Stable arc characteristics on low open-circuit voltage transformers
- All positional welding except vertical-down (flat, horizontal, vertical up, overhead)
- Easy arc-striking and re-striking with low spatter and easy slag removal
- Low hydrogen (H5) coating for minimised diffusible hydrogen, reducing cracking in structural steels.
Additional Details
- Hydrogen content ≤ 5 ml/100g of deposited weld metal
- Excellent crack resistance for dynamically loaded joints
- Ideal for welding steels of unknown composition
- Re-drying required at 350°C for 1–2 hours before use if moisture exposure occurs
- Provides high impact values even at sub-zero service temperatures
