StarBlaze MIG 308LSi is an extra-low carbon stainless steel MIG wire with enhanced silicon content, designed for welding austenitic stainless steels such as AISI 301, 302, 304, 304L, 308, and 308L. With a Cr/Ni composition of 20Cr/9Ni and silicon levels around 0.80%, it delivers excellent weldability, arc stability, and bead appearance. The wire is ideal for food processing, chemical equipment, piping, and boiler fabrication. Precision layer-wound and processed for smooth feeding and minimal spatter, it performs reliably across all welding positions.

It deposits a Ni-20Cr3Mn2.5Nb weld metal with outstanding strength, ductility, and toughness, especially after post-weld heat treatment or long-term high-temperature exposure. Ideal for critical applications like cryogenic LNG storage, LPG processing, and dissimilar steel welding, this wire offers excellent performance in creep-resistance (up to 800°C), non-scaling properties (up to 1000°C), and cryogenic impact resistance (down to -196°C). The wire undergoes ultrasonic and high-pressure jet cleaning after specialised chemical baths, followed by a proprietary anti-spatter silicone coating process for a clean, smooth arc and longer shelf life.
