StarBlaze MIG 318 is a niobium-stabilised stainless steel MIG wire designed for welding 316Ti and 316Nb type stainless steels. It deposits a 19Cr/12Ni/2.5Mo weld metal with enhanced resistance to crevice corrosion in oxidising acid environments. With precision layer winding and controlled cast/helix, the wire ensures smooth feeding and excellent “pay-off” during welding. It is ideally suited for critical fabrication applications involving piping, plates, and pressure vessels in corrosive environments. Supplied in both plastic and metallic basket spools.

The wire is coated with a specialised anti-spatter reagent blend (including dichloromethane and methylene chloride) for enhanced feedability and clean welds.

It is also used for buffer layers and buttering applications in 18Cr/8Ni steels. The wire offers excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance in continuous service temperatures up to 300°C.
